Warid LTE 4G Service in Pakistan |November 20, 2014
After the auction held for the 3G and 2G licenses by the PTA, only carrier which apparently left behind was Warid Telecom. Now Warid Telecom also started offering the 3G service to their Postpaid users and users also seem happy to have this service because before they were a deprived customers. All the other mobile carrier and mobile service providers were offering the 3G.
Previously it was apparently seems that Warid will go into the hole as they were only one left out in PTA auction for 3G and 2G license, but as per CFO of Warid Telecom Mr. Tariq Gulzar, they will invest around 470 million in next five years and this announcement totally negates the prospect of selling the Warid Telecom to some other bigger or better mobile operator. Warid was enjoying the 13% of market share few years back, but the dip came in and Market share of Warid Telecom shrinks to 8.9%, but having diversified career, CFO of Warid Telecom, Mr. Tariq Gulzar is now confidently claiming that not only they will regain the lost market share but they will look forward to target even the bigger competitor in Mobile Service Provider Industry.
For the same claim, they are going to offer 4G service for their customer in all the major cities and having Ericsson as network partner, 100% on Core and 75% on Radio hardware and network support. Ericsson were with them since the beginning and Huawei is also with them, but in very limited percentage.
So with having these plans in lined, Warid Telecom is very much in the game and you can sense the customers of Warid Telecom are now very much satisfied and the left out the assumption is now gone.
